Over the past 8 years since the drowning of her son Chistopher Debbie launched River And Sea Sense and has educated to date over 100.000 young people re Water Safety via school presentations events and as part of Crucial Crew working together with our Emergency Services. RASS has developed into a Nationally recognised organisation in the Drowning Prevention arena supported by Welsh Water and the CEO of the Royal Life Saving Society Peter Moyes. Water Safety Map is also a Drowning Prevention Statistical and Analytical website now being used in IT lessons in schools to further the Water Safety message.

Mark Hughes

Born and Bred fluent in the beautiful Welsh language, Mark began his career as a Lifeguard at Colwyn Leisure centre before progressing through to senior management within Leisure at Denbighshire County Council as well as undertaking additional roles as a verifier / auditor on Swimming Pool safety and Lifeguarding training across the UK. Mark has also worked for the Football Association of Wales as a Coach Educator delivering First Aid and Safeguarding courses to coaches and volunteers across Wales. Since leaving Local Authority management in 2015 Mark has worked for Groundwork North Wales as a Training Manager and worked to develop the client base which now includes Welsh Government, Local Authorities across Wales and England. Mark loves exploring the beautiful North Wales coastline and more rural areas as well as enjoying, sadly more watching these days, most sports.

I’m Glyn Davies, founder of Conwy 1st Aid. I have lived and worked in North Wales for over 40 years. With over 20 years of experience in first aid training gained through my experience as an outdoor instructor and youth group instructor. I’m passionate about giving people the confidence and skills to act in an emergency. As an experienced First Aid Instructor, Assessor and Adventure Training professional, I deliver engaging, practical training, tailored to workplaces, schools, outdoor organisations and community groups across North Wales. At Conwy 1st Aid, our mission is simple: to provide high-quality, hands-on first aid training that prepares people for real-life situations. Whether you’re learning first aid for work, home or outdoor adventures, you’ll receive friendly, professional instruction in a relaxed and supportive environment, leaving you with the confidence to make a difference when it matters most.
